ImageBaseTM, the real-time system for capturing, processing, and retrieving digitized images, is a fully integrated module of the PathData® System. Necropsy images may be compared during necropsy with historical necropsy data or visualized later on during microscopic slide evaluation. Microscopic images may be used for on-line data comparison directly on the screen, linked to glossaries, or used for illustration of findings within the body of tables and texts of the pathology report. The pertaining image database allows fast and easy retrieval of pictures across studies and PathData-integrated tools provide for remote image transfer, simplifying multi-site discussions of digitized images into the necropsy and histopathology operations, including printing of images within the body of tables or text. Requiring no special hardware, digitized images can be converted into any standard format, such as JPEG, TIFF, GIF, etc. Remote image transfer to other PathData® sites is also available and tools for placing markers into the images are also available.
